Mural Kits & Mural Patterns FAQ

So What IS the difference?

Simply put....
The 'kits' include the canvas and complete, step by step directions.
———————————————————
The 'patterns' contain only the preprinted design on a special transfer paper.
You need to supply your own painting surface, whether it be canvas, vinyl, paper, furniture, a wall or whatever you want to transfer that design to.....

PATTERNS FAQ

Do I need to buy graphite
or carbon paper?
Absolutely Not.....
As you can see in the above photo, the image is printed directly on the transfer medium...
No carbon or graphite paper is needed!

What is included? Each pattern includes at least one sheet of transfer medium, an image of the suggested final rendering and instructions on how to use the pattern.
If you need instruction regarding the painting of your project, I suggest you purchase one of our floorcloth or mural 'kits', which does include complete, step-by-step instructions, several photos and a very complete list of suggested art supplies as well as the pre-printed canvas......

How many times can I use one pattern?
Typically, you will get your best results from the first use, since once the medium is transferred to your painting surface, it is in effect, removed from the transfer paper.
However....if you are really careful, you could probably get as many as 3 or 4 uses out of one pattern.
Not only that, you should save the pattern to be used as graphite paper for other projects since there will be plenty of medium left, even after 2 or more uses!

What surfaces can the pattern be transferred to?
Almost any surface will accept the transfer medium. Matte surfaces, such as primed canvas or walls painted with either a flat, eggshell or satin finish paint work great.
Anything glossy could be a problem.

Are the patterns easy enough for beginners?
Sure! If you can trace a line with a pencil or pen, you can use our patterns.
Painting the transferred design is another matter entirely. THAT depends on your painting experience and the complexity of the design you choose.

Are the patterns appropriate to be used by experienced artists?
I don't see why not. Many experienced artists use stencils all the time. Our patterns basically help you jump-start your project.

Can I sell the finished product.
Yes....and no.
You can sell the finished mural or floorcloth to clients, in your store or gallery or on your web site.
Most importantly, you cannot copy or reproduce the design for resale of any kind.
All my designs are protected by copyright laws.

A word about the transfer medium....
The transfer medium is a blue, chalk-based product and is wax free, unlike some other transfer papers. As such, it cleans extremely easily.....a damp cloth or paper towel will remove most traces of the transfer medium....
However, since it is easily removed, well.....it's easily removed....meaning that it's very easy to smudge your lines after you have transferred the image. A little care taken after you transfer the design goes a long way in protecting your design............

KITS   FAQ

Mural Kits.....pre-printed and ready to paint!

Above you see an example of what you would have delivered to your door.
The full set of instructions written specifically for each design.
A list of suggested materials with suggestions of where to buy them.
At least one sheet of photos as reference.
And the pre-printed canvas, ready to paint, tied with my famous red string!

Are your kits easy enough for beginners? That depends. It would help if you used a coloring book at least once in your life:-)
Seriously, though, yes, they are. It's very much up to you how you finish your floorcloth or mural kit.
All the kits are easy enough to simply paint inside the lines. You can be as creative and as precise as your talent allows. I simply supply the concept already printed on canvas.

What do I need besides what you supply in the kit? You would need paints & brushes for the mural kits and a some other supplies for the floorcloth kits if you want to seal the top and bottom.
A scissors or utility knife to trim either kit.

Why don't you offer paints? Because at the moment, you can buy them for the same price as I can and maybe you already have your favorite paints. I may offer that as an option in the future.

How long will my finished product last? Again, this depends on you. The canvas is not indestructible, however I have floorcloths and murals in my gallery that are eight years old. So if you take care of them, they can last a lifetime.

Can I sell the finished product. Yes....and no.
You can sell the finished mural or floorcloth to clients, in your store or gallery or on your web site.
Most importantly, you cannot copy or reproduce the design for resale.
All my designs are protected by copyright laws.

Do you offer discounts to stores and organizations? Yes. Please call or email me for details.

Do you offer the floorcloths in finished form? Yes. I'll be adding those options to the web site shortly, as well as several new designs.

Do you take requests for new kit designs? Of course. Not all requests can be accommodated and will be considered on an individual basis.
Suggestions are very much welcomed.
